The 2017 Tri States Century 100 bike ride is scheduled for June 3, 2017. This “Tour of Miracles” ride is the only ride in this area that expands into three states (Alabama, Georgia, and Florida) in one exciting ride. The Tri-States 100 is part of the 2017 Alabama Back Road Century Ride series event. The ride begins at Bethel Baptist Church at 7:00 am. Registration begins at 5:30 am. The ride start is approximately 18.6 miles from the Garden Path Inn Bed & Breakfast.
This ride is a fundraiser for the Pediatric Cancer Unit (Dawn Pitchford Account) of Children’s Hospital. The Dawn Pitchford Account provides financial assistance for non-medical expenses for families whose child is being treated for cancer at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. Click here to read about Dawn’s story. During her time of treatment she met many children and families that she was able to help during their time at Children’s.
The ride will travel through downtown Columbia at the 68 mile marker. This a very convenient spot for friends and family to observe the ride and cheer on their favorite rider. The Garden Path Inn is 3 blocks from the ride course as they travel down East Church Street (Ala 52). There is also a rest stop at mile 70.7 just outside Columbia.
The Garden Path Inn is a luxurious lodging alternative that caters to the biking community. A high carb breakfast designed to provide fuel for the ride will be specially prepared for bike riders on Saturday morning.
Innkeeper’s Thought for the Day- “Mental toughness is many things and rather difficult to explain. Its qualities are sacrifice and self-denial. Also, most importantly, it is combined with a perfectly disciplined will that refuses to give in. It’s a state of mind, you could call it character in action.” Vince Lombardi
